Trichy: Senior BJP leader H Raja said he would mobilise families impacted by the land ownership claims of the Waqf board and bring them before the public against DMK and its allies during the campaign for the upcoming 2026 assembly election in the state.
Raja, on Friday, visited the Chandrasekhara swamy temple in Thiruchendurai near Trichy where the Waqf board claimed ownership over land parcels a few years ago.
"I have of list of families affected by the Waqf's ownership claims. We will mobilise support from 10 families during the campaign to vote against DMK, Congress, VCK, and Communists and all anti-Hindu parties," Raja told reporters.
On a resolution passed by the Tamil Nadu assembly urging the Union govt to retrieve the Katchatheevu islet ceded to Sri Lanka in 1974, Raja questioned why DMK failed to act and retrieve the islet when the party was a part of the Union govt between 2004-2014.
