Cast of TV show Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri: Beendani recently visited Jaipur. From exploring the local culture, to bonding over a delicious Rajasthani thali — this visit turned into an emotional and unforgettable experience for the actors Akash Jagga, Gauri Shelgaonkar, and Monika Khanna. They were in town to promote their show which is set in Rajasthan.
The show follows the story of Ghevar, a spirited young girl from a small village in Rajasthan. Raised with love by her elder brother and sister-in-law after losing her parents, Ghevar’s world revolves around her family. Gauri Shelgaonkar, who plays the role of Ghevar, had a wonderful experience visiting Jaipur. She shared, "This was my first time in Rajasthan, and I feel so grateful that this show gave me the chance to visit such a beautiful place. In Jaipur, I not only got to see the rich culture I had only heard about before, but I also had the chance to meet some real-life Beendanis (daughters-in-law). Listening to their stories touched me deeply. It made me feel that they are truly living the character I am portraying in the show, and it created an even stronger connection between me and my character, Ghevar. Their journey gave me a new sense of purpose and inspiration to bring honesty to my role. I feel truly lucky to be part of a show that not only celebrates Rajasthan’s vibrant traditions but also highlights the hidden strength of the women who live behind the ghungat. Being there, seeing their lives up close, and feeling their silent courage is something I will carry with me forever."
Akash Jagga, who plays the role of Kundan, shared his heartfelt experience of visiting hometown Jaipur for the promption of his show. He says, “As Jaipur is my hometown, coming here always feels like returning home. But this visit was extra special, as it was the first time I explored my city with my co-actors. I’ve known every street and corner since childhood, so I got to play host and give them a true local experience. From showing them hidden gems to enjoying an authentic Rajasthani thali together—it was a mix of nostalgia and joy. Seeing them fall in love with my city and its flavours made me proud. Coming back to my hometown for a project that showcases our culture made it even more meaningful.”
Monika Khanna, who plays the role of Ramkudi, shared her excitement about visiting Jaipur once again. She says, "I've been to Jaipur before, but each visit has been different. This time, it felt extra special and fun because I was there for our upcoming show, Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri: Beendani. It wasn’t just about fun — I got to learn a lot too. Exploring the city helped me understand the local culture, language, and lifestyle, which really helped me connect with my character. The best part was that we had a true Rajasthani with us, Akash who helped us see a whole new side of Rajasthan and made the trip even more memorable."
