NEW DELHI: The choice of ' Operation Sindoor ' as the name for the precision strikes against terrorist camps inside Pakistan was a gesture of solidarity with the grieving families of tourists who were targeted on the basis of their faith on April 22.
"It is meant to reassure them that we stand by you, and those who wiped off your sindoor are not going to be spared," a source said.
"Operation Sindoor #Pahalgam Terror Attack. Justice is served. Jai Hind," the Army posted on X soon after the targeting of nine terror camps belonging to jihadi gangs Lashkar-e-Taiba , Jaish-e-Muhammed and Hizbul Mujahideen . The post had a bowl of sindoor as a substitute for the first 'o', with some scattered around the second 'o'.
