Ahmedabad has emerged as the safest city in India in 2025, according to the latest Numbeo Crime Index , a global crowd-sourced database. With a Safety Index score of 68.6, Ahmedabad ranks 296 out of 385 cities globally, topping the list among Indian cities.
The 2025 Index by Numbeo assesses cities based on public perception of crime, day and night safety, and concerns related to property and violent crimes.
According to the list, Jaipur followed Ahmedabad, while Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Pune, and Hyderabad also featured prominently in the top half of the global rankings. These cities showed relatively lower crime perception and higher levels of public confidence in safety.
