Elon Musk is leaving DOGE , the tech billionaire announced in an X post. Musk’s exit from the Trump administration has won praise from Tesla Bull and Wedbush Securities Dan Ives . Taking to microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), Ives called it “music to the ears of Tesla shareholders”. The tech billionaire was appointed by the Trump administration as a Special Government Employee, a role that allowed him to work in a federal capacity for up to 130 days per year. Counting from Trump's January 20 inauguration, his role would have ended by the end of May. However, Mush has decided to leave a little earlier than expected.
Welcoming Musk’s exit from DOGE, Ives wrote on X:
“In another clear positive step for Tesla bulls, Elon Musk officially left the Trump White House last night......which is music to the ears of Tesla shareholders with Musk now laser focused on Tesla and the autonomous vision ahead. A new chapter ahead for Tesla and Musk”.
What Elon Musk said on his exit from DOGE
As mentioned before, Musk announced his exit on X, saying:
“As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending.
The @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.”
The announcement comes a day after a preview clip of a CBS interview went viral where Musk expressed his disappointment with Trump’s ‘One Big Beautiful Bill’. Musk said “I was disappointed to see the massive spending bill, which increases the budget deficit, not just decrease it, and undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing.”
“I think a bill can be big or it can be beautiful, but I don't know if it could be both,” he added.
