The Pokemon Company International has revealed new details for Pokemon Legends: Z-A, including its release date. The Japanese gaming studio has confirmed that the upcoming game will launch in October. Pokémon Legends: Z-A is set to be a new frontier for the Pokemon video game series. It will feature an RPG story set entirely within Lumiose City, blending action elements and a real-time battle system. This approach aims to deliver a gameplay experience distinct from previous titles in the franchise. The narrative focuses on an adventure "woven by people and Pokémon together." Apart from this, the company has also launched new merchandise featuring Mega Evolution that has been released on Pokemon Centre. This will allow fans to prepare for the upcoming game. The return of Mega Evolution, a mechanic first introduced in Pokémon X and Y, has also been confirmed for Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
Pokemon Legends Z-A : Release date and availability
Pokémon Legends: Z-A is set to launch on October 16. This highly anticipated video game will be available for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 . Preorders for the game are set to begin on June 5, via the Nintendo eShop.
Players who purchase either the physical or digital version for Nintendo Switch will have the option to upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition by acquiring an upgrade pack from the Nintendo eShop or My Nintendo Store.
The company has also invited fans to watch the latest Pokemon Presents presentation on July 22. Trainers can tune into the official Pokémon YouTube channel for further news and updates from the world of Pokémon.
The cover art for the game has also been unveiled, showcasing the main characters and their partner Pokémon battling a Mega-Evolved Pokémon in Lumiose City at night.

Pokémon Centre is launching a year-long Mega Evolution celebration tied to the upcoming release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A. New merchandise, including giant pins of Mega Charizard X and Y and a capsule apparel collection featuring Mega Venusaur, Mega Gengar, Mega Lucario, and more, will roll out throughout the year.
Starting next month, anyone who preorders Pokémon Legends: Z-A at Pokemon Centre in the US, Canada, or the UK will receive a free random Sitting Cuties plush (Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile) while supplies last. More Mega Evolution–themed products and experiences will be announced soon on PokemonCenter.com.
