WWE announces debut match-worn patch program with Topps

Earlier today, WWE and Topps announced a new match-worn Patch Program, which WWE Superstars will wear during their WrestleMania bout. However, later these patches will be turned into trading cards . As per reports, this is the first time that WWE will offer the patches for trading cards.

Reports also suggest that these patches will be unveiled at the WrestleMania 41 match this week in Las Vegas. But, this does not stop here. These patches will be used next for every wrestler making their first main roster appearance on Raw or SmackDown. Those wrestlers will wear these patches for the main roster debut patch.

It is also to be noted that after the wrestlers’ respective matches at WrestleMania 41, RAW, or SmackDown, the patches will be removed from the superstar’s attire and sent to be put into a “one of one” trading card.

Each respective competitor will also autograph the card at a later date. The cards will feature a COA/Fanatics Authentics hologram to authenticate the card, in addition to day, date, and name of the event.

Also, according to YAHOO SPORTS, “Each WWE patch card will be a unique one-of-one and will feature an autograph as well as a custom authentication from Fanatics.” Moreover, a press release issued to WrestleZone noted that most talent will wear it on their boots.

Earlier, in MLB, the debut patch is worn on a player’s sleeve, and in MLS, it’s worn on their chest. However, an alternative has to be chosen because WWE superstars don't wear conventional sports jerseys.
