Dylan Moore just won his career’s first Player of the Week award and has been on a roll this season. The Mariners’ shortstop has been performing his best this season, which is working quite well for the team as well. When asked about what worked for the player leading him to win the award, Moore had some interesting things to say.
Dylan Moore on how being aggressive worked in his favorAfter receiving the “Player of the Week” honors, Dylan Moore was asked what worked for him this time. To this, Moore replied,
“I just had a good week of seeing the baseball, two feet on the ground, and been able to take good swings. I was a little more aggressive than years past, just tried to put everything together that I have learned over my career and it worked last week for sure.”
When Moore was asked whether he’ll be taking a more aggressive approach in the near future, Moore said,
“I just think that in the past I have been too passive, not trying to get walked but making sure I’m not chasing as well, you know, not playing every day, and trying to see more pitches. But, being more aggressive worked last week, and I liked where my swings landed.”

Since the start of the season, Moore had 65 at-bates, of which he scored 5 home runs and 7 RBIs, increasing his batting average to .277, the highest of his career.
Besides, Moore had one of the best weeks on April 15th, a result of which was him winning the Player of the Week award. In the past week alone, Moore had managed to have a batting average of .385, scored 3 home runs, and 5 RBIs, leading to a 1.177 OPS. The best thing is that he did all of this in just six games! Talk about being a masterclass on the field!
What remains to be seen is whether Moore will continue the streak throughout the season or have some hurdles on the way. Whatever be it, for now, all Moore fans are happy with the shortstop’s performance.
