Over the last weekend, interdisciplinary artiste Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee presented his first-ever exhibition of fashion accessories in Gurgaon, offering a delightful fusion of culture, tradition, and gastronomy. Hosted at the residence of educationist Madhuban Ganguly, the one-day lifestyle pop-up attracted art lovers, creatives, and guests from all over Delhi NCR.
The exhibition was a visual treat, showcasing designs by Shampa Mukherji, including stunning Indonesian batik patterns on cotton and chiffon fabrics. Curated by Sujoy, the event offered a glimpse into the world of intricate, hand-crafted fashion accessories. The mix of textures and vibrant patterns caught the attention of everyone who walked through the door.
Art curator Ina Puri officially opened the exhibition, praising Sujoy for his work across various art forms. "It is always good to support art and crafts, and I am very happy to see Sujoy warming up to so many different art forms. His ceramic collection is fabulous," said Ina Puri.
The event also attracted renowned artist Jayasree Burman and conversationalist Paroma Roychowdhury, among others, who marveled at the unique blend of art and style. Sujoy, who has always been passionate about expressing himself through multiple mediums, reflected on the overwhelming experience of presenting his work in the capital.
"This was my first time in the capital, and I am overwhelmed with the response, appreciation, and dialogues," said Sujoy. "These spaces help me breathe when I need a break from my hometown Kolkata."
