Iga Swiatek won her first Wimbledon title without conceding a game in a ruthless demolition of Amanda Anisimova on Centre Court. The pair were in action for just 57 minutes as Swiatek won 6-0 6-0 - the first double bagel in a Grand Slam final since Steffi Graff managed it at the French Open in 1988.
Anisimova beat world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka in the semi-finals and she had been on a scintillating run during the grass-court season. But she fell apart against a dominant Swiatek, winning a staggeringly low 26 per cent of the points on her first serve and producing five double faults. There were tears in the stands as Anisimova delivered an emotional on-court interview, but for Swiatek it is a moment to savour as she adds a sixth Grand Slam title to her collection.
