POLL: Is King Charles right to let Andrew keep his Falklands War medal?

King Charles has saved his brother Andrew Mountbatten Windsor from further humiliation by letting him keep his Falklands War campaign medal. It is believed fury from veterans may have prompted this decision. On Sunday, Defence Secretary John Healey said the King had requested that Andrew's final military title be removed and that the Government had been working to remove Andrew's rank as Vice Admiral in the Royal Navy. This comes after the former prince, 65, has already lost all his royal titles over the last week following the ongoing scandals surrounding his previous association with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

While Andrew has denied all accusations against him, this Vice Admiral rank is his last remaining honorary military title after he handed back the others in 2022 due to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

By removing this military title, questions were raised as to whether or not Andrew would be able to keep medals he had earned through his 22-year naval career, which saw Andrew serve from 1979 until 2001.

It is believed the decision was to be made by the King, with The Telegraph reporting yesterday that Andrew would be able to keep his Falklands medal, alongside "all operational service medals".

This is likely to please many veterans', who had previously shown fury at the fact Andrew may have been stripped of his medals from his service.

Andrew is likely to be feeling relieved at this latest move after what has been a tough few weeks for the former prince.

Not only has he lost his royal titles, but Andrew has also been given notice to leave his 30-room Windsor Royal Lodge mansion.

Instead, he will be housed at a property on the King's private Sandringham estate.
