If you keep cleaning your mirrors and finding they still look dirty, there's one simple hack that could be a game-changer. You might have tried rubbing the marks away and finding that it only makes the smears worse.
But one person on TikTok says there's an affordable household item which you might already have lying around in your home that's perfect for cleaning mirrors. The woman, who goes by the username of @rooshome, says: "This blew my mind - using a newspaper to clean your mirror. Apparently people have been doing this for years but honestly it's amazing."
One person commented: "You can use the newspaper when cleaning windows as well - very common practice here in South Africa."
Another said: "Newspaper always!"
In the comments, others discuss how they can remember their parents or grandparents using this method to make their mirrors or windows look shiny and clean.
The cleaning hack has been called "old-school", but it's a method of cleaning which has stuck around none-the-less.
And the cleaning experts at Molly Maid have also endorsed this nifty hack too, saying it can make your mirrors look "crystal clear" again.
It said: "Use your newspaper to wipe across the mirror in a broad 'S' pattern, working from edge to edge, top to bottom.
"Try to lead with the same edge to capture any dirt or debris without spreading it around. Don't use a circular motion to clean the mirror; you're not buffing a car."
Cleaning your mirrors is a job you might easily forget but making sure they are free from marks can help your home look flawless.
Not only is cleaning your mirrors essential for aesthetic purposes, but it's also important for practical purposes.
Next time you're looking to clean your mirrors, don't forget to give this tried and tested method a go.
