Police have rushed to tape off an area in Manchester city centre after a man was found with life-threatening injuries. Officers are in attendance on Back Piccadilly and Spear Street, between Piccadilly Gardens and the Northern Quarter, with a cordon in place this morning (November 7).
Greater Manchester Police said its officers were called at 5.44pm on Thursday to a man with life-threatening injuries. He is in hospital in a critical condition. A woman has been arrested. Officers were then called to a second incident of a group chasing and threatning a man in the same area.
In a response to Thursday evening's chaos, GMP have been given greater powers in an area around both incidents as they up their prescence around the city centre.
