Lloyds Bank confirms 24-hour deadline 'you can still qualify' for £185 payment

Lloyds Bank has clarified the qualifying rules to get a £185 payment as customers have just a day left to bag the bonus cash.

The bank is offering the cash payment when you switch to a new Club Lloyds, Club Lloyds Silver, Club Lloyds Platinum or Lloyds Premier account.

The deadline to be eligible for the extra funds is tomorrow, Monday, July 28. A person contacted the bank over social media to ask precisely when this window closes, asking if it is right up to 23.59pm on July 28.

In response, Lloyds confirmed: "As long as we receive your application before the 28th of July ends, you'll be able to qualify for the switch offer."

To qualify for the £185 payment, you will need to complete the switch using the Current Account Switch Service including closing your old account.

You will need to transfer over at least three active direct debits. The amount will be paid into your account within 10 working days of the switch and will appear as a cash credit.

You will not qualify if you received a switching offer since April 2020 for switching to any Lloyds, Bank of Scotland or Halifax Bank account.

Those making a switch from a Halifax or Bank of Scotland current account will also not be eligible for the payment. The switch also has to be to a new account and cannot be made into an existing current account.

Lloyds Bank was also recently asked to clarify the rules around the rewards associated with some of its Club Lloyds accounts.

Club Lloyds Silver and Club Lloyds Platinum customers can choose from various 'lifestyle benefits' as an extra perk they qualify for as an account holder.

The extra benefits include coffee and dining memberships, a Disney+ subscription, or cinema tickets at ODEON or Vue cinemas.

A customer interested in choosing the cinema tickets asked Lloyds how long it would take for them to receive the tickets.

Lloyds said in response: "When you open a Club Lloyds account, we give you 30 days to choose and amend your benefit selection. Once that period has passed, your choice is locked in and your benefit will be issued to you."

Guidance on the bank's website about the cinema tickets offer explains: "Choose six cinema tickets from either ODEON cinemas or Vue cinemas. At Vue cinemas, your vouchers also entitle you to half price popcorn.

"At ODEON cinemas, you can redeem your vouchers at ODEON Kids Screenings, which come with a free kids-size popcorn per ticket."

If you go for the cinema tickets as your lifestyle benefit, Lloyds will use your postcode to identify and allocate your nearest cinema.
