Blue Bloods spin-off Boston Blue is nearly set to launch but which stars will be returning?
Regrettably, Blue Bloods reached its conclusion after 14 series in December 2024, leaving CBS viewers and the cast devastated to bid farewell.
However, fortunately, it wasn't long before the spin-off Boston Blue was revealed, which will chronicle the experiences of two original Blue Bloods characters.
Therefore, prior to the programme's major launch on Friday, October 17, here's everyone confirmed to return so far, plus the actors who have hinted at potential appearances.
Central to this revival is Frank Reagan's (portrayed by Tom Selleck) eldest son Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) who abandons New York and begins afresh in Boston.
However, how will he manage the daily challenges of police work without his law enforcement family's support nearby?
Posting on Instagram to reveal the news earlier this year, Wahlberg penned: "So excited to carry on the tradition, to share so many surprises, to answer some unanswered questions and to welcome all of you - to #BostonBlue!".
"The next chapter in the #BlueBloods legacy begins. I can't wait. See you CBS fall!"

It was announced in July that Danny's younger sister Erin Reagan, played by actress Bridget Moynahan, will appear in Boston Blue's opening episode.
It remains uncertain whether she will have a recurring role in the spin-off, but her involvement suggests a connection between Boston Blue and the beloved original universe.
Following the cancellation of Blue Bloods, Moynahan voiced the cast's "disappointment" at its conclusion, stating: "We've had such a good time. We all want to be there. It's a real loss.
"This was our daily lives for 14 years. And we've all experienced together major life moments together, whether it's births, deaths, marriages, divorces, illnesses, we've had it all together."

Danny's son relocates to Boston to kick-start his career as a patrol officer for the Boston Police Department, which could explain why Danny also potentially left New York behind.
While Sean's character will return, Andrew Terraciano, who played Sean in Blue Bloods, won't feature in the new series. Instead, horror film actor Mika Amonsen from Whistle will take over the role.
So far, only three Blue Bloods characters have been confirmed, but several original stars have shown interest in making a cameo.
Regarding Danny's brother Jamie Reagan (Will Estes), Wahlberg hinted at his potential appearance in Boston, teasing on Instagram: "He'd better come visit his big brother".
Eddie Janko-Reagan star Vanessa Ray told TV Insider last year that she would "do anything with these people", referring to her co-stars.
She went on to say: "So, yes, of course. I don't know what world it would make sense for Eddie to be in a spinoff at all.
"But if they need to put me in a wig and dye my eyebrows and I'll play a different character just so I get to hang out with all of them more, then I'll do it."
Tom Selleck, who plays Frank Reagan, also told Parade that he was "open to suggestions" about reprising his role.
It seems there's a strong possibility that more Blue Bloods stars could be making appearances in Boston Blue's near future.
Boston Blue premieres on Friday, October 17, on CBS.
