'Dreamiest' city in Europe is in Italy but it's not Rome or Venice

People have argued that the "dreamiest" city in Europe is located in but it is not a popular destination like Rome, Venice, Florence or . Rather, it is an Italian city that you may have never heard of. Italy is a culturally rich and diverse country with experiences to offer every kind of holidaymaker. It is known for its fascinating history (especially the ) and its gorgeous coastline with iconic spots such as the Amalfi Coast.

However, there is one Italian city that you may have never heard of, but it looks beautiful and has plenty for visitors to do. One TikTok creator has hailed it as the "dreamiest" city in Europe, listing the things to do and the stunning scenery. TikTok user Rob Adcock shared a compilation of clips from his time in Bergamo, Italy. "This is why it should be your next city break," he said as he showed off the underrated city.

"The best thing about it is that it's two towns that feel like two completely different places," he said. "[At the] bottom of the hill: beautiful architecture, easy to get around. But the top of the hill is the one.

"It's like you've been trapped in time from centuries ago." He also praised the food, something that Italy in general is famous for. And he is not alsone in thinking Bergamo is a top-quality .

Bergamo is located northeast of Milan, in the Lombardy region. The older upper district is known as Città Alta, is known for its cobblestone streets and old Venetian walls and buildings. It really is a truly magical experience for visitors who are interested in history and architecture.

Meanwhile, some of the city's other top-rated attractions include the magnificent Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore and Piazza Vecchia. Funicolare Bergamo Alta is a cable car that takes you uphill and offers great views of the city.

There are also some great museums in the city of Bergamo. They include the Civic Museum of Natural Sciences and the Cathedral Museum.

Bergamo is a relatively small museum and has a population of just under 120,000 residents, which is dwarfed by near-by Milan. To get to Bergamo, your best best is to fly into Milan.

From there, it is a 37 minute train which costs just £6 to ride. There are a number of well-reviewd hotels in the city to choose from, but Bergamo can also make for a fun day trip if you are staying in Milan for a few days.

Many were in agreement with the TikTok user's thoughts about Bergamo. One person wrote in the comments section of the video: "Oh no, don't ruin Bergamo with too many tourists!"

Another said: "Great place to be a foody too... you can go to the original shop that created stracciatella icecream and some of the best meat restaurants in Italy."

A third shared: "Visited last month. Beautiful and clean, loved it. Don't waste your time going to Milan."
