Desperate Prince Harry is showing us his court case is all about his big, fat ego

's latest barrister, Shaheed Fatima, whose been fighting in the Appeal Court this week to get his royal protection re-instated, said Harry was a person "whose safety, whose security and whose life is at stake" because that he has protection taken away. How very dramatic of Ms Fatima. But I'm wondering why is his life at stake here when his life isn't actually here - it's in ?

Ms Fatima also said the very fact Harry had turned up for the hearing shows how important this appeal is to him and his family. Well, that's not strictly true, because we all know how much Harry loves a court case. In fact court cases seem to be his hobby and the only reason he ever comes to Blighty these days. He doesn't come to see his family as they're always busy doing other things when he's around.

This week he's been taking on the Home Office (yet again - yawn) because it took away his top level security after he flounced out of Britain in 2020 relinquishing all his royal duties.

It was a sensible decision by the Home Office because why should this country continue to pay protection for a man who doesn't live here any more and who dumped all his royal duties?

This latest challenge comes after the High Court upheld a decision last year that Harry should not be provided with the same level of security now that he's no longer a working royal.

But Haz wasn't having that so now he's in the Appeal Court desperately trying to tear down that decision. This petulant Prince really doesn't like being told "no" - even when it's by the highest courts in the land.

But why does he need this top level security anyway? His wife, who's currently trying to be the next Martha Stewart, has no interest in coming to the UK. Archie hasn't been here since he was whisked away as a baby in 2020 and Lillibet has never been here.

And bearing in mind Harry has hurt and insulted his family to the point where they no longer want to see him - what's the point?

I think this case - which has so far cost British taxpayers £500,000 - is all about Harry's big fat ego. I don't think he ever believed he'd become a permanent royal outcast or that the Royal Family would carry on happily without him.

Maybe he imagined that after a couple of years they'd come crawling back and forgive the fact he'd called them all racists and sold intimate family secrets for money.

This week it's been said in court he felt he and Meghan had to step back from the role of full time working members of the Royal Family because they weren't being protected by the institution.

Which is tosh. The Royal Family bent over backwards to protect him and Meghan and to accommodate their demands. What they wanted was to be half in and half out of the Royal Family - where they could do a few royal duties but spend the rest of the time doing what they wanted.

It was a situation the Queen made clear was never going to happen. And she told him: "You're in or you're out." Harry and Meghan chose to be out.

And THAT'S why their royal protection was removed, although not immediately. They still had it when they were living in Canada at a cost of multi millions both to us and the Canadian taxpayer.

As for having been forced to leave that's just victim tosh because his father but particularly the Queen begged him not to go. But Harry always has to have someone or something to blame for situations he has 100% brought upon himself.

He's become a professional victim both here and in America. His barrister has tried to claim this week he was singled out for "unjustified and inferior treatment" since quitting royal duties.

Er... no. He was given the treatment that is afforded to non-working royals which might feel inferior to him but it's a position he willingly put himself into.

And yes, being a non-working royal means he might be treated differently but it's not unjustified. The courts and the Home Office have previously provided the justification for removing his top level security the problem is Haz won't accept it.

He wants the perks an protections of being a working royal while earning multi millions in another country. And why should taxpayers here pay for his protection when he no longer lives or works here. He wants superior, special treatment just by dint of the fact he was born a prince.

I very much hope the Appeal Court throws out this case to make clear to Harry once and for all that just because he holds the title of Prince it doesn't entitle him to special treatment.

He needs to accept the fact this country doesn't want or need him any more and we certainly don't want to pay for his protection.

He can afford to protect himself. And yes, I know he's offered to pay for the Met Police to protect him but as he's been told time and again the Met cops aren't guns for hire.

In fact, after he filed a claim for judicial review of the Home Office decision in 2020 Robert Palmer QC, for the Home Office, said at the start of the hearing that the duke's offer of private funding was "irrelevant", despite his safety concerns: "Personal protective security by the police is not available on a privately financed basis."

But Harry refused to accept that then - and now! Even last year when the High Court ruled against him getting his royal protection back, the judge, Sir Peter Lane, said the decision to change his security status was not unlawful or "irrational", and that there had been no "procedural unfairness".

But Harry refused to accept that too and prefers to takes refuge in the fact that because he can't get his own way - the world is against him. He really does need to grow up and accept responsibility for the life he has created!
