WARNING: This article contains major spoilers from Outlander: Blood of My Blood episode 10
The first season of Outlander: Blood of My Blood has now concluded, leaving fans on a massive cliffhanger and some viewers in tears, reports the Daily Record.
Fortunately, the second season is currently being filmed in Scotland, with more episodes on the way.
Episode 10, titled Something Borrowed, was released this week. Here are the key plot points from the season one finale.
Brian and Murtagh's daring escape
Something Borrowed began with Brian Fraser (portrayed by Jamie Roy) and Murtagh Fitzgibbons (Rory Alexander) narrowly escaping a group of assassins.
Luckily, they managed to fend off their potential killers and discovered from the last surviving assassin that Colum MacKenzie (Seamus McLean Ross) had ordered the hit.
Brian's solo mission to warn EllenUpon learning this, Brian ventured alone to Castle Leoch to alert Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater), having been convinced by Murtagh to fight for his love.
Unfortunately, Murtagh was too severely injured from their recent encounter with the Gallowglass assassins to accompany his cousin.
With assistance from Jocasta Cameron (Sadhbh Malin), Brian reached Ellen and disclosed that Colum had attempted to have him murdered.
This shocking revelation swiftly put an end to any promises Ellen had made to Colum about marrying Malcolm Grant (Jhon Lumsden) for the good of the clan.
Brian and Ellen's hasty departure left the wedding in disarray and relations between the MacKenzie and Grant families in ruins.
Dougal's unexpected nuptials
In an attempt to appease the Grants, Colum hastily arranged for his brother Dougal MacKenzie (Sam Retford) to marry Malcolm's sister.
The tragic end of Malcolm
This resulted in a heartbroken Malcolm resorting to heavy drinking before encountering Brian and Ellen as they attempted to depart Castle Leoch.
Despite pleas from Brian and Ellen for him to let them leave, a confrontation ensued which culminated in Malcolm's death when he tried to engage in a sword fight whilst intoxicated.
The next chapter for Brian and Ellen
Finally free from Castle Leoch, the pair found refuge in a bothy where Murtagh was waiting. Murtagh quickly left to give the couple some privacy.
Brian and Ellen made a blood pact and spent the night together, but their reunion was fleeting.
A call to arms echoed across the Highlands as fiery crosses were ignited on hilltops, signalling the Jacobite Uprising of 1715, with all men preparing to battle for their laird or face death for not responding.
Brian departed to join the fight, leaving Ellen behind, but she reassured him that she would always stand by him.
The escape of Henry and Julia
Henry (Jeremy Irvine) and Julia Beauchamp (Hermione Moriston) reached the stones with baby William.
Their journey from Castle Leathers to Craig na Dun included some flashbacks to the 20th century featuring their daughter Claire and Uncle Lamb (George Kemp).

The trio marked Claire's second birthday as Uncle Lamb delivered a speech brimming with hints about their daughter possessing the "spirit of an explorer".
He insisted she would travel to distant places but would always return "back home".
Subsequently, Uncle Lamb and Claire bid farewell to her parents at a railway station as they departed for Inverness, representing the final occasion she would witness them alive.
Henry and Julia reach the stones
The pair eventually arrived at the stones with Arch Bug (Terence Rae) in hot pursuit.
Nevertheless, there was a dilemma: they were uncertain whether William possessed the ability to time-travel.
They reached the devastating conclusion that one of them should take the baby, whilst the other stayed behind in the past, should William prove unable to time-travel.
With Arch bearing down on them, Henry had a change of heart at the final moment and seized the entire family to make contact with the stone.
The scene concluded the season on an enormous cliffhanger as viewers will now be left wondering whether they successfully returned to their own era with William or whether they were unsuccessful.
Outlander references
The episode, written by author Diana Gabaldon and showrunner Matthew B. Roberts, also featured several Outlander nods, such as Murtagh presenting the boar tusk bracelets to Ellen as a wedding gift.
There was also the pearls that Ellen received from another admirer, which appear frequently in Outlander as they are handed down through generations.
Another homage to the original series was seen when a young Claire extended her hand towards Julia at the railway station, mirroring the scene where Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) reaches out to hold Jamie's (Sam Heughan) hand in the second season.
Furthermore, Uncle Lamb's speech hinted at the thrilling Outlander adventures that lie ahead for Claire in both the future and the past.
