revealed that finding the perfect property abroad for buyers can often be full of promise or disappointment for house hunters. In an exclusive interview with , the presenter, 49, detailed a truly "upsetting" moment on A Place In The Sun, which is a rarity for the property expert.
The host was joined by a young lady who had gone through a "terrible time". After an extensive search, they found her perfect home. But disaster struck as they attempted to secure the purchase. "The most upsetting moment that I've had on this show was quite recently when I was house hunting with a lovely lady, and she had her best friend with her," Jasmine explained.
She continued: "And she came to me in the morning, and she decided to make an offer on the property, so I had to break the news to her. I called the agent to ensure they were standing by, but the property had been sold that morning before we spoke. It was awful.
I had to tell her that we had this update from the agent and that somebody else had bought it. She was just about to make an offer on it. We all bloody cried our eyes out. It was horrendous. It was the worst."
Jasmine added: "It was really upsetting because we were all on this big high. She had been through a lot, this poor lady. She had been through a really terrible time. It was like a new chapter but the rug got pulled out from under her. So that was really horrible."
But it's not all bad news, as there was a silver lining for one house-hunting couple.
The Channel 4 favourite recalled a married pair, Lisa and Paul, whose dream was realised.
She explained: "One couple I remember were lovely. Lisa and Paul. She had cancer, and he had looked after her. They didn't have a lot of money. She received some cash from the health insurance after she got ill, and they had a very low budget, so we took them on a very emotional house hunt.
We found them an apartment which they bought and it was a lovely, really amazingly emotional moment and when we went back to revisit them I could not believe the difference in them."
Jasmine visited them again for the Channel 4 spin-off show A New Life In The Sun.
"It was so heartwarming to see how they changed their lives so dramatically with their health and new opportunity to travel and make new friends. That was a really emotional revisit for me."
