I can understand that this news can shake the ground under your feet. You too take a look at this news and think whether women can really feel free and safe in India?
In Delhi, a son raped his own mother
You will be shocked to hear the allegations made by a mother in Delhi's Hauz KH area against her 39-year-old son, and perhaps our eyes will bow down in shame. The mother has lodged a complaint in the police station and has alleged that her son has raped her. The woman said that on August 11 and August 14, her son locked her in the room and raped her by showing her a knife and scissors.
At first, she did not lodge a complaint due to fear and shame, but on August 14 at around 3:30 am, the accused did it again, so the woman went to the police station and told the whole matter and lodged a complaint. The accused accused his mother of bad character and called his father and asked him to divorce his mother. The police have registered a case and started an investigation. The accused is a graduate and is currently unemployed. The complainant is a housewife and her age is around 70 years. The accused told the woman that he was punishing her because she had had an extramarital affair and had spoiled his childhood.
These 5 cases that have come to light in the last 24 hours raise questions about women's safety
- A man raped a 15-year-old girl in Bhopal. It is being told that the two started talking on Instagram, and the man called her to the park and raped her. This was going on for about 3 months. When the accused thought that the girl was pregnant, he gave her abortion pills, after which her condition worsened, and then the family members took her to the hospital and found out about the whole matter. At present, a case has been registered under the POCSO Act, and an investigation is going on.
- A similar case has come to light in Kolkata. According to reports, a four-year-old girl was sexually abused in the school campus. A person who had come to deliver books from outside did this and then ran away.
- Another case has come to light from Delhi. Here, a 13-year-old girl ran away from home after a fight with her father. She reached Meerut alone by train, and here she fell into the clutches of smugglers. The girl was sold for a few thousand rupees and married to a 40-year-old man, and was raped several times. 3 people have been arrested in the case.
- South's famous rapper Vedan was already facing allegations of sexual harassment, and now 2 more girls have accused him. In one complaint, it has been alleged that the harassment took place in 2020. Whereas the second incident is reported to have occurred in 2021.
Such crimes against women really shake us from within. There are so many crimes that are not even registered, and so many crimes are registered, but women just keep waiting for justice. Strict punishment is necessary in these cases, but in reality, these cases will stop only when our thinking changes.
