Tripti Dimri, the rising star of Bollywood and now the new lead in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s big-ticket film Spirit, has spoken out after replacing Deepika Padukone in the high-profile project. Deepika had reportedly exited the ₹300 crore film due to her strict condition of working only 8-hour shifts, a demand that didn’t align with the intense filming schedule planned by the director. Without delay, Vanga turned to Tripti — the breakout performer of Animal — and finalized her for Spirit, marking her second collaboration with the director.
Tripti, who is also gearing up for the release of Dhadak 2, shared her thoughts in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. She highlighted the importance of learning from diverse filmmakers, saying, “It feels good to work with different directors because you learn a lot.” Without directly addressing Deepika’s departure, Tripti emphasized her enthusiasm and growth as an actor through challenging and varied roles.
Reflecting on Spirit, Tripti called it “a beautiful film” and expressed her excitement about working once again with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, as well as producer Bhushan Kumar. With Prabhas playing a fierce police officer, Spirit is expected to be a high-octane, emotionally driven action drama. The film is slated to begin production in 2025, and with Tripti now in the spotlight, it could very well become a career-defining moment — one that might leave others, even Deepika, wondering what they missed.
