A day after the firing, the cafe management said in a post on 'Instagram' that they are recovering from this shock, but their stand against violence is firm. The cafe team shared a statement on Instagram Stories on Friday.

The statement said, "This incident is heartbreaking. We are recovering from this, we will not give up."

"Thank you for your support. This cafe exists because of your trust. Take a firm stand against violence and ensure that Cups Cafe remains a place of warmth and community harmony," the statement said.

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) said it received a call from an establishment at 1:50 a.m. local time on Thursday, although the establishment was not named. Police said they received a report of a shooting at an establishment in the 8400 block of 120th Street at 1:50 a.m. on July 10.

Police said, "Upon reaching the scene, it was found that bullets were fired towards the establishment, causing property damage. Employees were present inside at the time of the incident." SPS said that no one was injured in the incident. The cafe was open in Surrey, British Columbia on July 4.

The management has also thanked the police for their quick response and for 'ensuring everyone's safety in this time of crisis'. Kapil Sharma has not commented on the incident.
