Dial 112: Madhya Pradesh's New All-in-One Emergency Helpline – CM Mohan Yadav Flags Off 1,200 Police Vehicles

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has launched the Dial 112 integrated emergency service in Madhya Pradesh, calling it a major step toward creating a safer society through quick response and accessible help for citizens. At the launch event held at the Kushabhau Thackeray Auditorium, CM Yadav flagged off 1,200 First Response Vehicles (FRVs)—including Scorpios and Bolero Neos—that will operate across the state equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

A New Era of Police Readiness

Praising the Madhya Pradesh Police, CM Yadav noted that the earlier Dial 100 service had already delivered remarkable results, such as:

• Assisting 2.23 lakh elderly citizens

• Providing safety to over 19 lakh women

• Saving 1,300 newborns

• Reuniting 23,000 missing children with their families

He said Dial 112, with an expanded fleet and modern tech, will cover multiple emergency situations, ensuring every possible help—be it related to law and order, health, disaster, or women’s safety.

Boost in Safety Infrastructure

• The state government has allocated ₹1,500 crore for the vehicles and emergency infrastructure.

• New recruitments and specialized training have enhanced police efficiency.

• Plans are underway to integrate public CCTV cameras into a more vigilant surveillance network.

• The government is also focused on improving facilities for police personnel working in challenging environments.

During his address, CM Yadav remembered the role of the police during the Covid-19 pandemic and underscored their courage in protecting citizens even at personal risk.

Historic Context and National Pride

The CM also reflected on 14 August as a grim reminder of the Partition horrors, while stressing India’s current strength to defend itself under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership. He expressed confidence that India will continue to strengthen its global role.

From Dial 100 to Dial 112

DGP Kailash Makwana highlighted that the Dial 100 service, launched in 2015, had been a lifeline for lakhs of people. Now, the upgraded Dial 112 integrated system will act as a single-point emergency helpline, delivering police, fire, and medical assistance through one call.
