I must confess, whether it's the millennial in me or my inability to master the art of ironing, I've become quite the fan of steamers for tackling creases. Ever since I moved out of my parents' house, the thought of ironing has filled me with dread, and despite all the advice my mum has given me, I can never seem to iron as well as she does.
I've tried a fair few steamers, but recently I bought a new one in the Amazon sale and was seriously impressed. The Russell Hobbs Steam Genie Handheld Clothes Steamer, originally priced at £43.99, is now available for £33.89 in the sale (prices accurate at the time of writing).

There's no need for an ironing board, and this steamer produces a 28g steam output that's perfect for tackling creases and freshening up clothes. It comes with three handy attachments for delicate fabrics, which is ideal for someone like me who has a variety of different clothing styles.
Another feature I'm really chuffed about is the lint brush attachment. My dog Penny often sheds bright white hairs all over my dark clothes - this attachment is a lifesaver.
My previous Tefal steamerrequired you to continuously hold the button in to generate steam, but this one has a convenient lock button option so you can steam at your own pace without having to keep pressing it down, reports the Liverpool Echo.
I was genuinely impressed by the sheer volume of steam this Russell Hobbs Steamer produced. Its broad base meant that larger creased areas could be tackled more quickly and effortlessly. It doesn't require too long to warm up and operates really swiftly, even on heavier fabrics such as shirts or jackets.
My sole gripe would be that this steameris rather cumbersome to handle. Whilst it's certainly ergonomically crafted to be held comfortably, it's quite substantial and weighty in dimensions.
Nevertheless, in my view, nothing will be as cumbersome and as irritating as an iron, so I'll choose a steamer over the tedious chore of ironing any day. I certainly believe this product justifies the cost, and makes my life considerably simpler when I'm dashing to get to work in the morning and I don't fancy arriving in a wrinkled shirt.
But don't simply take my word for it, Amazon customers have also given the steamer a 4.5 out of 5 rating online. One review stated: "Great little tool, easy to use, lightweight and easily stored as it folds down good value and handier than the iron!"
A second buyer commented: "Great little steamer. Very light to work with, heats up very quickly and works like a treat. Gets creases out of clothes in seconds. Well worth the money! Doesn't leak at all!."
A third enthusiast remarked: "Excellent and super easy to use! So good I've now ordered a second one to gift to my mum! Gets wrinkles out, heats up quickly, ideal for saving time in prepping my Vinted sales!"
However, like me, some shoppers also found the product a bit hefty. One review reflected this sentiment: "I like the fact that the cord is long enough, it steams pretty well but yeah, it is heavy if you're steaming your clothes for more than five minutes, you'll need to switch arms."
If this steamer appeals to you, it's available here at a discounted price of £33.89 (prices accurate at the time of writing).
In other news, if you're more inclined towards a traditional iron, Amazon has cut the price of this Russell Hobbs Supreme Steam Iron from £49.99 down to £18.99 in the sale. You can check out the deal here.
If you prefer to shop elsewhere, Argos stocks this Bush 1200 Watts Handheld Steam Cleaner for the even more wallet-friendly price of £25. Or, if you don't mind splashing some cash, you can pick up a Neakasa Magic 1 Vacuum Steamer for Clothes for £84.99.
