Spencer Matthews and have never shied away from sharing the From the Made in Chelsea star's drinking problem that nearly derailed their wedding day to intimate details about their bedroom life, no topic seems off-limits.
Having met in 2017 on The Jump, tying the knot just a year later. Vogue’s marriage to Brian McFadden had just ended when Spencer asked her out, only to be initially turned down, but she eventually gave in.
The TV star, 36, had once opened up about how he knew the Irish presenter, 39, Back in 2018, he popped the question to the star and shared with fans how much he admires his other half, and how their relationship grew over time.
Spencer gushed: “I have a huge amount of respect for her. We started off as mates, and knew we’d be friends after The Jump." He continued to tell Heat Magazine at the time: "The falling in love thing came later. But she is my best friend. In the evenings, I look forward to seeing her more than anything else. We live together and I respect what she does, how she is, how she does everything, and I’d like to think she respects me.”

“I’ve known she was the one for a while now, and we’re very happily engaged.” While the proposal went smoothly up until that point, Spencer later opened up about how his “selfish” drinking habits nearly ruined his and his wife’s big day.
In an interview with The Sunday Times back in December 2021, Matthews revealed that he almost left Vogue at the altar after getting carried away on a booze-fuelled morning adventure with James Middleton, Kate Middleton's younger brother, the day of their wedding.
“I was still drinking when we got married in 2018 up in Glen Affric in , so there was plenty of champagne and whisky at the wedding,” Spencer, who is now sober, said. I took a paddleboard out on the loch in the morning with James Middleton. We mistimed it and only got in 15 minutes before the service."
The couple later became parents to their three children, Theodore, now six, Gigi, four, and Otto, two - as well as running their own businesses. as well as running their own businesses. Spencer has hit own alcohol-free spirits company as well as his own podcast, while Vogue focuses on her fake tan business and her lucrative Fairy deal.
Spencer went on to open up about the changes he’s had to make in his life, especially since becoming a dad, saying: “I try my best to put the kids first." Four years into their marriage, cracks started to show behind closed doors, with the Vogue has openly admitted to fearing boredom in the bedroom - a fear she says could put real strain on their relationship.
"I’m married but I don’t want to ever get bored in the bedroom, and there’s loads of stuff to explore that we just don’t know about," she said during her show with Joanne McNally, Joanne & Vogue’s Sex Drive.
"I won’t be married forever, we all know I enjoy a wedding," she said. Meanwhile, a 2024 interview with The Times, Matthews admitted that his wife would rather keep their sex life out of the spotlight. To add to the pressure, the couple quietly reduced the price of their £4.7 million London home, as they prepare to move into a bigger home together. A close source told the "There’s a lot going on with Vogue and Spencer at the moment. It’s a stressful situation for them."

More recently, the couple failed to mark their wedding anniversary on social media, yet as they have admitted to having "tiffs" with each other. It comes following a confession Vogue made where she opened up about feeling that at home.
She said: "In the nicest way possible, I would say I fix the broken radiator and I do the school run. I would say I do 80 per cent of what (goes on). We've actually been having a slight little tiff about that this morning, about the stuff that I do". Cracking up, Vogue added: "I've had enough today".
While Vogue had previously been in a relationship with Westlife's Brian McFadden for three years before they split in 2017, Spencer had been romantically linked to his Made in Chelsea co-stars , Stephanie Pratt, and Lauren Frazer-Hutton.
The reality show star previously revealed how he regretted screaming at Louise during their heated breakup that aired on TV, as he blamed his heavy drinking for the nature of their toxic relationship. Appearing on Elizabeth Day's How To Fail podcast he explained: "I had broken up with Louise the night before and I told her that scene was about that and she came in steaming hot, screaming at me, breaking up with me instead and I thought, "oh this isn't real anymore" so you have these crazy reactions."
