Brits can also see, hear and speak to visitors with Live View in real time and two-way audio features on the Blink Home Monitor app.

It is also built against the elements, so it won't break—rain or shine—and claims to have long-lasting battery life, running for up to two years on two AA lithium batteries, which are included in the box. It also works with Alexa and is super easy to set up without needing to worry about annoying wires going around the home.

There are plenty of alternatives for those looking for something to keep an eye on the house. For those looking for a more portable option as well as a doorbell, the Ring video doorbell is available. It's currently priced at £49.99 on Amazon. Meanwhile, theGoogle Nest Video Doorbell retailsfor £179.99 on Argos.

There have also been glowing reviews of the device, with many calling it "great". One reviewer said: "I bought these to add onto an existing Blink system as I had a couple of uncovered areas. They are well-made and very easy to set up.

"I had no trouble integrating them into an existing setup - although, if you have a legacy system with no regular monthly payment plan, it will try to set up a subscription for you.

"You can simply ignore it, and the reminders will go away after a month, although you still get an annoying banner at the top of the app. Generally, they are pretty good - you can set the sensitivity, and exclude certain areas from the trigger zone, on quite a fine granular level.

"You can set active times and activate/deactivate the system on your mobile device. Live view is quite useful, and you can speak through the camera from your mobile device too."

However, one thing to note is that the device does come with a subscription, and people have been noting how expensive it is. One reviewer added: "The Blink Outdoor camera is actually brilliant.

"The quality of the picture is superb, and the resolution is not even set to the maximum to save battery life. It has good motion detection, and the subscription, in my view, is a tiny bit expensive". Blink's subscription price is set at £8 a month, and it's possible to link multiple devices to the one plan.
