David Moyes says he has begun to plan for next season because he is certain will be safe. Moyes has always been cautious about admitting will stay up, despite their impressive run of 18 points from 11 games.
But with Everton 15 points clear of the drop zone with only seven games left, he says they will be in the when they move to their new waterfront home at Bramley Moore Dock this summer. The Blues have 15 players out of contract or with their loans set to expire this summer, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Moyes says he has begun work with the club to assess his squad for next season.
“Yeah, we’ve started to look forward now,” said the Everton boss. “First and foremost, the job was to make sure that we’re a Premier League club next season.
“So if we weren’t, then obviously things would be completely different. But I believe now that we’ve probably got enough points to be a Premier League club.
“Mathematically, that isn’t completely correct, but we are, so we’re starting to plan, starting to look forward. We’ll talk about the players’ contracts, probably when we’re mathematically safe, because then we can start to understand exactly what the finances all look like.

“So hopefully, in a week or two’s time, we’ll be able to start looking at players’ contracts and what we’re going to do.”
Everton travel to on Saturday and Moyes says his opposite number, Nuno Espírito Santo, deserves to be a contender for Manager of the Year. Nuno has transformed Forest to lift them to third, challenging for a place, after they finished 17th last season.
“I think they surprised me from where their position was last year,” said Moyes. “I have to say Nuno has done an incredible job.
“I’ve got no real interest in their style of football, football has to be played in many different ways and if we were only going to play football in one way, then I think it would be boring. I think Nottingham Forest are having an incredible season and it’s great credit to them.
“If you’re going to be Manager the Year, then it’s more to do with the resources you’ve got as well. It doesn’t always go to the people who win it with the biggest resources, at the biggest clubs.
“I think from Nottingham Forest’s position of last season to where they are now, I think that has to put Nuno in a strong position.”
