A couple came across a gorgeous McDonald’s location but people have been left divided. When you think about McDonald’s, luxury might not come to mind.
The popular global franchise is known for its affordable fast food and a typical restaurant features a combination of red, white and yellow colours with the iconic golden arches on display. Foodies typically go to McDonald’s to get their junk food fix and probably don’t expect anything fancy. Logan and Audri, a full time travel couple, found a standout McDonald’s location while visitingItaly. They posted a video on Instagram showing the beauty of the restaurant on the Piazza di Spagna in Roma.
This venue is different from many others and what you would expect as it has a sleek, elegant design, marble walls, patisserie-style desserts and a traditional, white Roman statue with the golden arches illuminated on a wall inside.

It also has 394 seats and was the first McDonald’s to open in Italy. In the caption of the Instagram post the couple wrote: “This has to be the most beautiful McDonald’s in the world…”
They said this site was “designed to fully blend with Rome’s historic centre which is why it features art, marble columns, and a more elegant design than a normal McDonald’s.”
It offers “a little piece of history, a more upscale experience, and pastries”, according to the travel fans.
The Piazza di Spagna is a public square in the centre of Rome and it lies at the foot of the Spanish Steps.
Foodies can order unique items on the menu at this McDonald’s restaurant that aren't found in other countries, such as tiramisu, chicken wings, tomato and mozzarella panzerotti and beer.
Logan and Audri’s Instagram reel has amassed thousands of views and likes and more than 200 comments.
Foodies were divided by the swanky fast food venue. One said: “I don’t care how fancy it is. I don’t go on vacation anywhere and eat McDonald’s.”
Another pointed out: “Still a McDonald’s though isn’t it.” A third stated: “Visiting Italy and having McDonald’s is really a crime.”
However, there were plenty of positive comments about the restaurant as well. A different user exclaimed: “This is crazy!! Looks so good.”
A second added: “It’s true. McDonald’s in Italy is on another level.” Someone else commented: “I haven’t been but I’ve seen it on TV and it’s just absolutely stunning and completely different.”
A foodie who has visited this McDonald’s location chimed in: “I’ve been in there. I can add it is incredible.”
McDonald’s varies in each country and has different food and drink products. A further user said that the Italian locations have “barista-level espresso” and freshly squeezed orange juice, in Japan the presentation is “top notch” and offers the “best fast food fish sandwich” they have tasted and McDonald’s in France has pastries that are “fresh and never frozen.”
