Lucknow: The Lucknow Municipal Corporation launched a cleanliness drive today to mark Defense Minister Rajnath Singh's birthday. Mayor Sushma Kharkwal initiated the campaign by cleaning Mahatma Gandhi's statue in Hazratganj and sweeping Hazratganj Square.
During her inspection, Mayor Kharkwal found varying levels of cleanliness across the city. While some areas were satisfactory, she expressed anger over significant garbage accumulation in other locations. In the Zone-6, Chowk area, she found a large pile of garbage outside a shop, leading her to reprimand the zonal officer and zonal sanitary officer and instruct immediate action.
