Student Arrested For Sexual Harassment And Forced Conversion Blackmail In UP' Shravasti

A male student has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Shravasti district for allegedly sexually harassing a female classmate and using blackmail to pressure her into religious conversion.

The disturbing case came to light when the victim filed a written complaint on Saturday, 2 August, detailing months of harassment by her classmate, identified as Samir Ahmad. According to the complaint, Ahmad secretly recorded private videos of the young woman and used this compromising material to coerce her into sexual favours.

The harassment escalated when Ahmad allegedly began using the videos to blackmail the victim into converting her religion, adding a sinister dimension to an already traumatic ordeal.

Bharat Paswan, Circle Officer Ikauna, confirmed that initial investigations have substantiated the victim's allegations. "A girl filed a written complaint in which she alleged that one of her classmates recorded her private videos. The boy repeatedly pressurised her for sexual favours," Paswan stated.

Police acted swiftly upon receiving the complaint, registering a case and arresting the accused on Sunday. Ahmad is expected to be presented before a court as legal proceedings commence.
