Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): Seven members of a family from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, were found dead inside a car in Sector 27 in on Monday.
They consumed poison as they were overwhelmed by heavy debt and had become bankrupt, as revealed in a two-page suicide note recovered by the police.
They were returning from an event at Bageshwar Dham when their vehicle was found parked in Sector 27, Panchkula.
According to information, police recovered a two-page suicide note from the car. In the note, the head of the family said they took this step because they had become bankrupt due to heavy debts.
He also took responsibility for the situation and asked people not to trouble his father-in-law. He mentioned that his cousin would perform all the last rites and rituals.
The deceased include the family head, his wife, their three children, and the elderly parents of the family head. The family was living in a rented house in Panchkula.
Earlier that day, the family had attended a spiritual event by Baba Dhirendra Shastri at Bageshwar Dham. After the event, instead of going home, they parked their Hyundai Aura car in Sector 27 and took poison inside the vehicle.
The police are continuing their investigation.
