A recent development had indicated that all is not well between Rajasthan Royals management, as captain Sanju Samson and head coach were said to be having a rift between them. However, Dravid himself has come forward and confirmed that the reports being circulated in the media are completely fake and baseless, and that he is still on good terms with Samson, the skipper.
Notably, the reports had circulated shortly after RR's loss to Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the tied match that the visitors lost via Super Over. However, with the head coach quashing the developments, it is safe to assume that things are absolutely normal in the former champions' dressing room. Dravid, who has himself captained the Royals in the past, told the same during a media event after the game.
"There are reports in the media that Captain and the coach Rahul Dravid are not on the same page. Would you like to answer this?" questioned one of the attendees.
"I don't know where these reports are coming from. We are actually on the same page. Sanju is a very integral part of all the decision-making and I have a really good rapport with him. He is very much an integral part of the team. He is involved in every discussion and decision that we make. Obviously, when you lose games and things don't go right sometimes, you face the criticism, and you are happy to front up with the team," Dravid replied.
"You are not performing well or not doing well, and that is something we can think about. Sometimes the results go your way, and sometimes they don't. We have to learn from that, and we have to move on, and we have to keep looking ahead," he further added.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan will now be up against Lucknow Super Giants to play the Match No. 36 of the at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday. The night fixture would be a crucial encounter for Rajasthan to mark a comeback into the ongoing edition of the tournament, and Samson & Co. would not want to repeat the previous mistakes against high-flying LSG.
