WrestleMania 41 Night 1: Jey Uso beats Gunther for the first time

WrestleMania 41 Night 1: Jey Uso beat Gunther in the opening match of WrestleMania 41 to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. This is the first time he has beaten him in four attempts. 

Jey Uso wins at WrestleMania 41

Jey Uso added a new dimension to his career when he beat Gunther to win the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career. The match started with a collar and elbow tie-up. Gunther then used his strength to dominate Jey. ‘The Yeet Master’, on the other hand, relied on his speed to neutralise his mighty foe. After an evenly matched contest,

 Jey Uso eventually locked the Austrian star in a sleeper after hitting him with multiple Uso splashes and made him tap out. 

About Jey Uso-Gunther's rivalry

Jey earned the right to get a shot at Gunther’s title by winning the Royal Rumble 2025. Their rivalry intensified when ‘The Ring General’ brutalised Jimmy Uso, the former’s twin, after beating him in a singles match. ‘The Ring General’ then promised to make his WrestleMania 41 opponent’s life a living hell. Jey Uso responded by promising to deliver a beating to him at ‘The Show of Shows’.
