Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 14-year-old debutant, sparkled as the star performer during the 36th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Saturday. RR's Suryavanshi is the youngest debutant in the history of the IPL, and the stellar performance of the 14-year-old not only impressed the RR fans but also caught the attention of the Google CEO, Sundar Pichai.
Without a doubt, the newbie gathered praises from all corners of the globe the moment he smashed the first ball of his career for a six en route to an impressive 20-ball. While with regular captain Sanju Samson sidelined due to a thumb injury, the 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi was handed his debut cap at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
The Bihar-based cricketer made an instant impact by effortlessly launching the very first ball he faced, bowled by Shardul Thakur.

Noticing the stellar performance of Suryavanshi, experts couldn't keep calm, and English cricketer Sam Billings compared him to prime Yuvraj Singh.
Billings took to his X (formerly called Twitter) and wrote, “This is utterly absurd!!!!! 14! First ball, look at that bat swing too, like prime Yuvi… wow."

Suryavanshi not only left his impact on the minds of RR fans but also left Sundar Pichai awestruck. On Sunday, Pichai took to his X account (formerly called Twitter) and shared a post with a caption that read, “Woke up to watch an 8th grader play in the IPL!!!! What a debut!”
