Fans troll MS Dhoni after Jasprit Bumrah's big wicket

No fireworks from MS Dhoni tonight! In the El Clasico clash between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), ‘Thala’ received a resounding applause from the Wankhede crowd as he walked to the crease. However, his stay was short-lived as he was dismissed for 4 off 6 balls by pacer Jasprit Bumrah. 

Dhoni faced a low full-toss angling in on middle and he whipped it up without trying to keep it on the ground level. Positioned at deep backward square leg, Tilak Varma charged in and took a well-judged, low catch. This was a crucial breakthrough for MI, knowing Dhoni's threat in the death overs. This saw MI restrict CSK to 176 for 5 wickets.

Fans troll MS Dhoni

After fans called for Dhoni to move up the order and smash the ball around the park, he did just that in the clash against MI. However, his stay was short-lived, and fans were quick to troll the 'finisher' for wasting deliveries while players like debutant Ayush Mhatre (32 off 15), Ravindra Jadeja (53 off 35), and Shivam Dube (50 off 32) went on a scoring spree.

As IPL 2025 promotes its mission of planting a tree for every dot ball, fans seized the opportunity to poke fun at Dhoni, playfully claiming that new trees would be planted in Mumbai's Aarey Forest because of his innings.

One said, "MS Dhoni today… 'This one is for Aarey Forest'" (showing a note just like Abhishek Sharma did after smashing 100).
