Mikel Arteta handed Arsenal fixture nightmare as Bayern Munich Champions League date revealed

Arsenal fans can start planning their European trips after confirmation of the team's Champions League schedule. The Gunners discovered their opponents in this season's competition on Thursday following the draw at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.

Mikel Arteta's side will face home games against Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Olympiacos and Champions League newcomers Kairat Almaty. They will then be on the road against Inter Milan, Club Brugge, Slavia Prague and Athletic Club.

Arsenal do have some very tough fixtures to contend with but they will be expected to come through them and seal their place in the knockout round, whether that be via the top eight or the knockout phase play-offs. The north London club start their Champions League journey away at Athletic Club on Tuesday, September 16, before then hosting Olympiacos 15 days later.

A second successive home match follows on Tuesday, October 21 with Atleti making the trip to London. Arsenal's European fixtures in November come away at Slavia Prague on Tuesday, November 4 and then at home to Bayern on Wednesday, November 26.

In December, Arsenal travel to Club Brugge on Wednesday, December 10. Their league phase campaign then draws to a conclusion in January with Inter Milan away to come on Tuesday, January 20 and Kairat Almaty visiting the Emirates Stadium eight days later.

As ever when it comes to the Champions League, all managers want Premier League fixtures to fall kindly for them on their return to domestic action. In Arsenal's 2025/26 schedule, they do now have a bit of a nightmare week coming up in November following the release of the dates and kick-off times for the Champions League games.

The first North London Derby of the season against Tottenham takes place at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, November 22, with Arsenal then hosting Bayern Munich four days later. It doesn't get any easier for Arsenal on their return to Premier League action as they are away at Chelsea on Saturday, November 29.

That is a huge week in Arsenal's calendar but it does give Arteta and his players a chance to make a real statement in their quest to win major silverware come May. In January, Arsenal have Nottingham Forest (away) and Manchester United (home) to come either side of their game against Inter Milan at the San Siro.
